Terminology
Rename internal concepts to the words your business already uses
Suppliers use different names for the same concept — one yard calls it a Lot, another an A-Frame, another a Bay. Vava keeps a fixed internal system name, and the whole UI (menus, forms, receiving, reports) displays your chosen label instead.
| Internal Concept | Internal System Name | Client-Facing Label | Where It Appears |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Batch / Lot
Grouping layer — not a product
|
Commercial Group | Stock receiving, bundles, grouping | |
|
Warehouse / Yard
Storage area inside a location
|
Storage Facility | Warehouses & Yards, stock location | |
|
Rack / A-Frame
Structure that holds slabs / stock
|
Storage Structure | Warehouse layout, slab storage | |
|
Bin / Position
Exact slot a piece sits in
|
Storage Slot | Rack detail, slab position |
Changing a label is logged to the Activity / Audit trail and takes effect across every screen immediately. Internal system names never change, so imports and API integrations stay stable.
Stock Statuses
Lifecycle states a piece can hold
Draft

Reserved / Held
Partially Reserved

Archived
These are internal-only lifecycle states — they track storage and availability, not transacting. Historical unavailable stock can only arrive via import.

Users & Roles
Which roles can be assigned to client accounts, and which only see the clients assigned to them. Admins & managers always see every client.
